Dark rides can be anything you want them to be from a comic book adventure to something for families of all ages. Dark Rider Inc is the ONLY company in the amusement industry who has created interactive dark rides based on Marvel Super Hero 'Spiderman'. Dark Rider has also created dark rides and attractions based on Garfield, Incredible Hulk, and MGM James Bond.
Dark Rider is the only company using CGI (computer generated animation) to enhance story lines within an interactive dark ride. Dark Rider has the ability to create CGI FX that adds the sophistication typically only seen in Disney or Universal attractions. We're also KNOWN as THE leader in blacklight theming.

Interactive Dark Rides
We'll enhance the storyline by adding computer-generated effects to bring the story to life. CGI effects offer the ride experience an action that couldn't otherwise be done with typical robotic animation.
If you want a blacklight themed interactive ride, no one offers a better artistic and visually pleasing
experience than Dark Rider. Additionally, our blacklight environments are completely 3D, through the
use of special glasses. This offers yet another layer of depth to your attraction. |

Dark Rider can also offer alternate endings to the
targeting games. When using trackless ride systems,
riders can easily be directed to an alternate ending.
Depending if riders successfully score enough
points will determine which ending
they'll see. "Fail to score enough
points and your fate could be
compromised!" Lastly, Dark Rider
will design and build complete queue
areas including interactive, scripted
pre-show movies. |

Complete Package: Dark Rider doesn't have a standard list of things you must do before we'll install your dark ride system. We supply everything turn-key. Included in our packages is shipping*, installation costs*, & travel costs* w/in Continental US, fabrication, design, audio/visual, animation and all interior walls needed to give you a complete turn-key attraction. Note: We do not supply plumbing, electrical, emergency safety equipment or air compressors.
Interactive: Dark Rider will create Hollywood style computer animation for your ride and create interactive pre-shows while riders wait in line. Riders will laugh out loud when they visually see their favorite character do something funny rather than all cardboard cut-outs. Say "NO" to the standard painted boards that pop up and down scene after scene, and say "YES" to interactive story lines.
Theming: Our attention to detail is second to none. We will theme every single inch of your ride leaving no stone un-turned. Our creative team has the freshest ideas and the most creative approach. Lastly, our blacklight environments are breathtaking with vibrant colors and creative art.
Story Telling: Every ride will have a story to tell and through the pre-shows and live animated effects, riders will be lost in our reality throughout the ride.

Ride Specifications
Build Size: Dark Rides can range
from 4,000 square feet to 10,000.
Typically we suggest 6,000 to 8,000
for ride, and 1,000 square feet fo
interactive queue line.
Scenes: 10 to 16
Animated Targets: 80 to 120
Ride Time: 4 to 6 minutes
Ride System: Wireless Track Systems can be provided by ETF Systems or Simtech. Track systems can be provided by ETF Systems, Mack, or I.E. Parks.
Capacity: 10 Four-Passenger Cars up to 1,000 per hour. (Capacity could be increased by upgrading to six or eight passenger cars.) Ride system costs will range from $300,000.00 to $600,000.00 US dollars. Prices vary based on upgrades, adding a targeting system, special effects on ride system, custom cars, etc.
Design Time: Dark Rider can design any dark ride, which includes blueprints, design drawings, story lines, scripts and more within 30 days from first meeting with client. Design time can take longer based on client approvals or changes.
Lead Times: To build one complete dark ride takes approximately 3 months from approval of design and or from date of deposit. Ride systems may require a slightly longer lead time.
Build-Out Capacity: Dark Rider will build no more than FOUR dark rides per year. In order to provide the utmost in customer service, we limit our production. No more than two dark rides will be built simultaneously. (Certain factors could effect or speed up this process such as if CGI effects are re-used, designs are re-used, etc.)
Waiting Lines: Dark Rider can supply the COMPLETE dark ride. Dark Rider will build out interactive queue lines for the rides and storyboard, and script CGI pre-shows that lay out the story for the riders as seen in most Universal and Disney rides. Wait times can be reduced by using newer vehicles that transport up to eight riders per car rather than the standard four. Lastly wait times are not as exhausting to customers if interactive pre-show areas are created. |

Interactive Elements: Dark Rider will bring your dark ride to life by creating CGI animations that will turn entire sections of the ride into live action. Families will laugh when they actually see Daffy Ducks mishaps or be awe struck when they see Batman saving the riders from The Joker's gags. We can also offer alternate endings for riders... If they don't score enough points, riders will see the losing ending and vice versa. We can also offer the option of making the ride 3D. Riders would need to wear special glasses for the effect.
Rider Attendee Restrictions: Ride systems can be created for even the smallest riders. Dark Rides typically have the least stringent rider height requirements. Ride restrictions are based on the ride system you choose for any particular dark ride.
Estimated Staffing: Staffing for a dark ride typically requires no more than 6 staff members to assist loading and unloading and ride operation.
Performance History: Dark Rider got its first big break designing and fabricating Spidermans Ultimate Ride, an interactive targeting game, which features CGI animation and much more. Much was learned about how to utilize technology, rides systems, targeting systems, theming techniques and animation durability. Since creating the Spiderman dark ride, we've built dark rides in South America, China, Niagara Falls, Canada, New Jersey and Philadelphia.
Design to Install Timeline: Once a theme for your dark ride has been chosen and space blueprints have been supplied, Dark Rider begins the concept and design phase. This usually takes 30 to 45 days. Construction of the project begins after all designs have been approved. This phase takes between 90 and 120 days for construction to final installation.
Estimated Costs: This is the EXCITING PART!... Dark Rider will give its dark ride clients ONE PRICE for EVERYTHING including shipping, installation, design and fabrication. There's never any hidden costs. Dark Rider will not supply any emergency safety equipment, electrical, plumbing or air compressors. (Dark Rider will offer design for the facade, but typically we do not fabricate them.)
Typical costs for a 6,000 to 8,000 square foot dark ride would start at 1.2 million complete with ride system. When ride requirements increase, the costs could increase by 1 to 2 hundred thousand dollars. Most dark ride systems complete with pre-show, shipping and installation don't exceed more than two million dollars.
Building costs are usually under $800,000.00 for a 10 to 12 thousand square foot building. A new Dark Ride built from scratch including building costs should fall within a budget of under 3 million dollars. |
